All this is happening because there are quite a few FOs at 9E who don't want to upgrade for various reasons-base, holding a line, equipment, days off, etc etc..

The company has no desire to do forced upgrades. Nobody knows hows long this will last, but once all the 900s have moved over and the XJT/ASA Atlanta pilot population is depleted, things should go back to "normal", whatever that looks like these days.
Unless there is more growth. Then we continue on with these shenanigans.

If they force the upgrade the forced captain can always bid back down to FO, and that might happen quickly if they force upgrades and then release seat locks to allow street captains. The company has no desire because they can't really enforce. If they tie a flow to captain position that might encourage a few but we've got too much growth here right now for anyone to be forced into anything for long.

Not yet they don't. And it will be UAL when it happens. (Not sure if DL or UAL matters to him)

Oh, and they do have a 200.

Shoot! There must be a perfect airline for him. Endeavor isn't working out.

Is Republic a good fit for him? Sounds like he needs a junior Atlanta base at all costs.

He never said EDV isn’t working out for him. He asked a valid question because someone junior to him got what he wanted but did not get (multiple someones, apparently). Do you have an answer to his question, or just snide comments to make?

Perhaps if you cannot post here without being a d!ck, you should consider stepping away from the keyboard for a few days. Be a part of the solution, not part of the problem.

In short, he's complaining about the seniority process and doesn't understand he can be released from any and all seat locks as soon as the company elects to. Which won't be long.

Coming on the web board and warning us the xpressjet guys "won't like this" and his tone was my annoyance.
Lol. Settle down. I’ve worked at Comair and Xjet. I know all about seniority and I never “warned” anyone about anything. I simply had a question based on what our class was told. Thank you to those who replied constructively. Glad to be here.

Well I did answer snidely, so ive done both.

I can further snidely answer. The initial is not the award. If you contest the initial or final award you can email the crew planning dept right on the initial award. Following that, the union is the proper channel to figure out if you are owed something, and for many of us, that's the first call.

I was pretty busy beating back incorrect assumptions about releasing seat locks, so if there's more besides what you've brought up fine but I won't retype everything i did before swapping 900 for ATL and 200 for NYC.

Finally. ATL might go senior. *Shrug*

Actually they do have a choice. This is from the contract. Section 24 G

1. The Company may waive any or all equipment freezes on a uniform and non-discriminatory basis.
2. A Pilot who is involuntarily Displaced shall not be subject to a freeze.
3. A Pilot may bid and be awarded a change in Domicile at any time.
4. A Pilot subject to an equipment freeze will be released from such freeze to prevent the hiring of a Captain off the street.

So, do you know what non-discriminatory basis means?

So now's a good time to talk to the union and verify if I am wrong. I'm more than happy to submit to their expertise on this matter. A matter that was just exercised on 1705.

Well I think all captains or all FOs would be considered non-discriminatory. It’s written pretty gray, how would they interpret it?
