In mainline news, you can add to the fodder of aviation bollocking, you know landing on taxiways, wrong airports in a state-of-the -art airbus, etc. last month a 717 attempted a take off from DTW with only one engine running.

While I agree with your entire post, I’d like to remind you of the ruckus the press and the family’s of the Colgan crash made once it was made public that pilots were sleeping in the crew room. In fact, that crash was probably the biggest reason for the new FAR117 rest rules. Yes, sometimes a short stay in the crew room makes sense if your last leg gets in late and your commute home is 6 hours away. Beats spending $$$ for 4 hours in a hotel. But even people that can afford it offen take advantage of it because they’re cheap. Get a crash pad if you find yourself stuck often. It makes the rest of us look bad.

To tag onto that
Crash-pads in NYC are illegal and are slowly being shut down. This too should be of concern but the company just looks away. I am wondering if our POI/the FAA, are aware of some of the things that go on-STILL!. If another accident were to happen there would be a lot of explaining to do. EVERYONE SHOULD FILL OUT FCRs AND FATIGUE REPORTS WHETHER OR NOT YOU CALL IN. Data is important if something were to happen. They always try to blame the pilot's.
Didn't Sully testify about some of the regional airline SELCLAL SELCAL Oops, as I as writing this another non essential message came over the speaker, Sully-about regional airline practices?
The aircraft movement OOOI Mombo #5 is not what the FAR about flight time is about. So, can I sit at a spot after being disconnected for, HOW LONG? What if I move a foot? What if I taxi a few feet to de-ice and wait there for an hour or more.
Accidents happen for a number of reasons not just one. Remember the Swiss Cheese model. I know it's a touchy subject BUT, commuting and crew rooms, still going on today, were part of that accident and lead to FAR 117 and better fatigue awareness. And fatigue is a shared responsibility but try telling that to the base Chiefs or Schedulers.

This job isn’t perfect, but airlines don’t make people commute and they’re not about to shell out unlimited hotels for commuters or open bases in every out station. I get it, commuting to reserve sucks, I do it myself but it gets better and you just have to hold onto the fact that you’re a commuter and that’s how it is. I can tell maybe this industry isn’t for you.

Please read
Please read the post before making comments. I've been doing this long enough to know what fatigue is and isn't. Maybe the industry isn't for you because you need to have a reading comprehension Prix. Oops sorry, PREX. Sentence structure too.
