I stand corrected then. But I'm correct that this was not something we negotiated for. Heard that reps in recurrent a while back. This was between mgmt groups.

That's correct. Travel benefits aren't really ever a negotiated thing. It was a nice addition and greatly appreciated.
Sometimes it's good to have friends in high places at DL. Next up, let's keep pushing for clarification on DGI!

Nope, union drove next to nothing into the decision. RG (before he left) and the VP of HR were the ones driving this, and finally got pushed over the goal line by our new CEO once he took the reins. I'm told the approval was a swift one from Ed once BL said it needed to happen, but took a while to get through with Delta HR and their 450K+ retirees.

As far as DGI is concerned, the company knows it is not a program that attracts new hires so they probably won't invest a lot of time into "clarifying" it.
[QUOTE=HighFlight;2569599]62 and one day. Will quit and enjoy my flight benefits and my paltry 75% SS benefits. I’m with ya!
Don't count on the travel benefits. ASA and Comair got Deltafied out of their retiree benefits.

I know. That’s why I have decided EDV shall not remain my employer (sadly, because I think it’s a great place to work). But what a cr@p thing to work for 15 years, retire, then lose your flying benefits two years later, eh?

Either the company is actually telling the truth about needing to catch up on upgrades or we don't need to hire new people because we will aquire pilots along with airplanes.
