I would take ATL. Worst case you can bid NYC if you can't stand it. Its not like NYC CA slots are hard to come by.

Reserve in ATL (home but I would be the plug)
Line in NYC.

Knowing that it is almost impossible to drop a reserve day, would you take the bottom reserve slot or hold a line in NYC (close to the bottom, but still a line)

What say you.
Reserve in Atlanta. Captains fly a ton on reserve. You’ll keep busy and not have to commute.

Don't even have to watch the video, it was previously identified as a GoJet flight.

Can anyone tell me about the 200/900 seat locks? If you are assigned the 200 at training, how long until you can bid the 900?

Easy: home in ATL. Might get paid to stay at home, no crash pad needed, no limos back and forth between the NY bases, drive to work, won’t lose an extra 2-3 days commuting. Personally, I have bypassed to not have to be on RSV in the left seat, but that’s just me. (I won’t be doing the DGI, so no rush on TPIC).

Agreed with the caveat that if you can hold 16-17 days off in NYC as a line holder, it MIGHT be worth taking that slot.

I don't think the bottom line holders are getting that much off but maybe they are.

Having done both (lived in base as reserve and had a line as a commuter) living in base wins hands down. Unfortunately I don't think my wife is about to pack up and move in base again, so I'm stuck but it's a great gig to have.

Fixed it for you :-D Reserve in base hands down. There is never a good excuse to commute to the continual IROP that is NYC. Besides, as a 200 CA in ATL, you'll fly a lot.
