Seniority is based on age. I think they take experience into account when assigning sim partners.

Do they try to spread it out? Have a 121 guy with a CFI or keep CFI with another CFI , 121 with another 121? If that makes sense.

Years ago when I went through initial, and every time I've changed equipment sim partners were chosen by bidding. Experience etc had nothing to do with it. They have a number of sim schedules and you go bid based on seniority.

They pair you up with someone you are most likely to get a long with a and complement. If you have issues with your sim partner they can switch you.

We had one that was open book, I know it definitely wasn't systems or gen subs. Sorry about my fuzzy memory.

There was no bidding for initial schedule or anything. In initial in November, we bid base and equipment (not necessarily at the same time) and that was that. Training partners and times were assigned by the company.
