I am about 200 spots away from my shot at the SSP. Thing is I am very low time for having been here for 5 years. I got hired and have only flown about 225 hours on the line, before going away for military leave and just getting back. If I do interview, my stats will probably end up being:

2300TT
~500SIC RJ (by the time I get there)
500SIC Mil Heavy (225 combat time or so, if that is a plus)
200UPT time
800 part 91 instructing (C-172, PA-44)

Is this a huge red flag, or once you get the interview is it all just how you perform?

Any insight? Thanks!

Not a rumor.... It's a fact! I flew with him late last year. He even bragged about it. It didn't surprise me he would do something like that.

Great guys have gotten turned down in this provess, but people like that dont realize how much that just proves to Delta what a great decision they made...

200 spots away? 5 years at 9E? Umm...dude if your name wasn't sent this week it will be in the next round. Your shot will come much sooner than you think. I am just shy of 5 years myself and my name is going on this weeks list (it was slightly delayed from what my contacts are telling me). 04/2011 DOH here.

As to your flight time...I don't think your low total time will matter once in the interview room in my opinion. Add the fact you have military flying experience they will like that. It'll all depend how you do on the HR questions and the computer testing.

Is the DGI similar to the SSP or do you have a choice when to interview?

Not to advocate poor behavior however I wonder how many mainline pilots would be doing this or worse if they were bought out by another mainline and given a take it or leave it ultimatum contract. Then told to re interview for a mainline job that was never presented that way initially.

Not saying regionals should get date of hire like Comair tried but why the double standard system for a regional pilot and mainline? How many mainline pilots had to re interview when they were bought out by another mainline?

It wasn't a merger.

I see good point. So it was good for the Western and NWA pilots that Delta could not afford to buy out Western or NWA. Maybe they then would need to re interview or given a take it or leave it contract. Good thing mainline doesn't have disgruntled pilots. That's why AMA TWA AWA and US Air got along so well.
