Just a reminder as well that if you have a mechanical discrepancy and you call OCC; don’t let maintenance tell you to reset breakers or start engines to clear reverser cautions etc. You can do an aircraft power reset, but we don’t want to see corrective actions where you cycled breakers under the direction of MOC. Feds don’t want that anymore

Default I’d like to see that in writing or memo

Isn’t fault reset procedures exactly that. I don’t agree with it and think the FAA needs to be watching closer right now and not just MX. Powering down the aircraft and up again does not always work! MOC has said they can pull and reset breakers as many times as they want😮. I think pilots can do it three times. It’s becoming an issue. If it wasn’t this conversation would not be taking place. It will only get worse with the older beat up aircraft we will be getting. I just don’t get why anyone would want those old clapped out 700s. I think they’re going to be a bad choice. I’m either right or wrong but we won’t honestly know for a while.

Every mechanical discrepancy requires a logbook entry. Fault reset procedures are the corrective action in some discrepancies. Popped CB’s are a discrepancy and are written up. Mx has the job of verification on why it popped and to make sure there’s no underlying problem.
Any growth is good for pilots. That means relative seniority and upgrades as planes come online. Possibly new domiciles.
All good stuff.

Fault reset is just for a few specific problems, which is why the list in the QRH (700/900) is so short. That is why it requires a 3 day Mx lookback, and can only be done once per flight. Specific ‘known issues’ that can be reset.
The infinite breaker pulling via MOC is different and I agree shouldn’t be common occurrences.
As for “old clapped out” 700s, the last two were in arguably better shape than the first three we got, so, YMMV

Most junior captain on the new vacancy announcement is at 3 years of seniority.

But look on the bright side - there are upgrades!

And one more downgrade in MSP...

They actually allowed secondaries into NYC and DTW. So there's that...

I recognize a couple names that bid ATL900 CA every.single.vacancy and then withdraw.
