Can someone explain to a new-hire in lamen terms what just happened with 17-01. Looks like to me there was quite a bit of movement across the board going down to ATL?

Is LGA 200 still most junior for FOs between JFK/LGA?
Have they stopped growing JFK entirely?
With all the shifting of folks from NYC to ATL, is it at all probable that reserve times in both NYC bases could diminish further? Not sure what JFK is but I think LGA is somewhere around 1.5-2 months before this initial award.

I'll ask this. How drastic would the paycheck be between a reserve captain vs a senior FO in LGA with 18 days off and the ability to pick up trips at 150-200%?

Probably pretty drastic, as a "very senior" FO in LGA is probably still on the $30 an hour first year pay. 18 days off? Some people are living in fantasy land.

Actually some FOs in LGA average 16-17 days off a month.

FO - 105 hrs credit
$3,200 Net Monthly Income
($41/hr, 25% witholding, $400 per diem)

CA - 75 hrs - Reserve
$3,600 Net Monthly Income
($80/hr, 35% withholding, $200 per diem)

Comparable.

Senior FO is gonna get buyouts from OE, so he's getting more than 105 unless they sit at home with 25 days off.

Senior FOs do great. Im sorry i left it sometimes.

My last month as a LGA 900 FO in 2016, I had 19 days off.
Was bidding in the top quarter seniority wise.

Having the ability to hold weekends and holidays off while credting 100+ a month also has its weight I suppose.

Crediting 105 sounds good and picking up a 4 day sounds easy and great, but the reality is when you commute, you tend to regret picking up open time when you could have been off for 9 days straight.

Living in base is another story altogether. So just understand that.

Forget about perdiem and taxes; perdiem will vary month to month and taxes vary person to person.

On reserve, you may be able to pick up 2 days of flying or reserve (3 if you're really trying) and as a lineholder with multiple consecutive days off, you can easily pick up a 4 day.

Situations and conditions will vary month to month, but use the chart I whipped up for estimation.
