Curious how anybody thinks Delta can hire/train 125 pilots a month?

First, it’s 1340. Second, we did 1200 in ‘16 or ‘17. It’ll be tight but definitely doable.

oh right, I forgot about the 9 day workweeks, 29 hour days, reduced "fast-track" SIM schedules and European/Asian SIMs. My bad, definitely doable...

United may have to furlough, but the other legacies should be okay. The main reasons are Geopolitical factors, the Trade War, and to some extent a softening economy, as entitlements need restructuring by 2023.

Amazing, right? It’s even more so since none of those things in your post have yet to happen, at least if memory serves.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Why United? Due to their international exposure. That’s an interesting statement since AA has been pilloried on here for their debt.

That's because they don't know what they're talking about. All that matters is the operational cash flow. Delta has lost more money than all other airlines combined, and came within 90 days of ceasing operations, now look at you.

The Pacific market is going to be a bloodbath, as margins are razor thin already, while geopolitical relations continue to deteriorate. There will be major US domestic growth in the wake of global trade rebalancing. No airline faces any financial trouble whatsoever, just a reduction of needed personnel.

Doom! Gloom! Everybody run around in a panic! It’s gonna be the worst thing you ever saw. It’s all lining up. I see it in the tea leaves.
