Default Trip pairings NYC

Received an offer from EDV last week with summer start date. How senior are 1-3 day trips at EDV for someone living in NYC? Can someone share (PM) their typical monthly schedule? Ideally I would prefer 1-2 day trips (or 3 days) if at all possible.

Also have an offer from PSA, however 20 minute from NJ to NYC vs 1.5 hrs to PHL is much better. RAH rejected me so that's not an option for EWR.

EDV barely has any 1-2 day trips. Only 12 day trips and twelve 2 day trips in the entire NYC 900 bid pack for next month. Compared to five hundred 4 day trips and 153 5 day trips. Even in MSP where most pilots are local, most trips are still 4 days.

On the 200 it’s even worse. No day trips, only one 2 day trip and only eleven 3 day trips. Most pilots are commuters to NYC so they want longer trips.

Did they really offer you a summer class date in February? If this isn't by design (military commitment, building time, etc), go somewhere else.

Most trips are 4 days that don't overnight in base.

I chose they date as I have other commitments until then. Thanks for clarifying the pairings!!

Id rather sit in the FA JS any day of the week over cockpit. Get unlimited coffee, snacks, potty breaks.

Per the march bid pack NYC 900, here are the trips. Hope this helps. Changes monthly. BUT, it is common for 1 day trips to drop into open time throughout the month

1 day - 12
2 day - 12
3 day - 77
4 day - 500
5 day - 153

what’s doubly funny is that normally they only have to take the FA jumpseat for take off and landing. Usually we’d switch out at TOC and TOD.

This is a new one on me. In the times I was helped by a Delta guy before we didn't "switch out" and I haven't done it when I took the FA jumpseat. It's also not going to be kosher per our policy.

I believe he is referring to the FA JS and the XFA JS. Working FAs have to sit in the seat next to the door panel for the MCD. The XFA JS is next to the service door. It’s common for people to switch seat at TOC and again at TOD.

At least I hope this is what he means.
