So thoughts on the Unions state of the union email? Seems like there's no end insight on anything and kinda depressing.

They realize money won’t solve attrition.

As much as it sucks to hear there's no progress, I'm not surprised. Delta will not do anything until they absolutely have to. Every month that goes by that we lose more than we hire only strengthens our negotiating position. It's going to royally suck here for the foreseeable future. Let's just hope that whatever Delta is forced into doing makes it worth us enduring it.

Don't forget... It's not the union's job to solve attrition. Nor is it there job to give anything up in exchange for it. The company needs attrition to stop. We do not

Oh I agree. Even though it was kind expected to see the company is saying it's not an issue that needs discussed right now. I was at least hoping that was wrong. Well if attrition doesn't increase more after that and pilots knowing the company and delta have no interest right now I'd be shocked..

Biggest thing right now was that schedules have zero intentions of getting better in the foreseen future

Yea schedules suck. And reserve utilization is the highest I've ever seen here. It's kind of crazy that they haven't tried some sort of retention strategies yet.

I have this imaginary vision of them all sitting in the office shaking their fists at the seniority list yelling "but the flow!!"

The have no reason to retain pilots, until we are literally cancelling flights for lack of crew. The cost structure of the airline has never been lower, the percentage of guys on year 1 pay is higher than ever before, and the top expensive guys are leaving 20/month. Regionals were intended to be staffed this way, it's just been years since its happened.

Here's another conspiracy theory for what's happening at management: Maybe they are sitting back knowing it's all part of a bigger plan to accelerate the retirement of the 200s. Let the pilots bleed and use the "pilot shortage" as the excuse to get rid of that fleet like Daddy D did with the mad dogs.

Either they are that smart with a good plan or they're just flat-out ignorant with their heads in the sand yelling "but the flow!" No matter what, the suck is going to get a lot worse for us in the short term before it gets better.
