Any "Latest & Greatest" about Endeavor?
#3481
From the latest issue of Endeavor Matters...not sure how many employees read this or not...a comment straight from the top about 170's.
Brian, DTW FO asks…
“I’m seeing a LOT of discussion about Endeavor getting E170 jets. When is this going to happen?”
Executive Response (Ryan Gumm)
Brian, we have been hearing a lot about this on our end, too. And, candidly, we’ve been working to prepare Endeavor for the day when Delta asks us to fly them. Will we be getting Embraer jets this week? No. Will we be getting them in the next few months? No. Will we eventually be an operator of Embraer jets? As Delta’s wholly-owned subsidiary, we need to position ourselves to deliver a product that aligns with Delta’s plan. So, while I can’t give you a hard date, I can confirm that as an organization, we are expeditiously preparing for the day when we are asked to operate E170/175 jets. When that day comes, we will be ready.

So my question would be, why invest a ton of money to start up and get approved a program now. When we arnt getting any planes yet? I think there is more here then what's being said......second thought is this could free up the sim time that they are having trouble getting for the CRJ. On top of bombardier on the verge of going out of business.... Some one else wanna chime in??

Started in January, almost done training. All around a very positive experience. Great people, professionally run...a few hiccups but nothing to mention. PSing you home on breaks is a really nice deal and they are really good about booking it. Compared to what regional training life once was, this is a working vacation.

Completely depends on where home is. Some it's not worth it, for others, it is. Basically, if you have 48 hours off, the company will fly you home PS.

Any time you get 2+ days off you will be given a positive space ticket home and back. For ground school it's weekends. For sims/FTDS you can get 3-5 days off in a row depending on your specific schedule. Just shoot an e-mail to Stephanie, she's AWESOME. Like literally you will get the confirmed seat 10 minutes after you send the e-mail if it's during business hours, I've never seen anything like it.

I don't want to chime in but I don't see how 1. this would free up sim time or 2. Bombardier on the verge of going out of business (which is highly dubious) having any connection at all to this. How would either of these in anyway be related? I don't get it. Why would this free up sim time on the CRJ? It won't at all. Really pretty simple in my opinion, Delta needs options/backups depending on how the Republic thing turns out.

Well if you insist on being a tool let me put it in elementary terms for you..... If we arnt limited to one sim type aka CRJ. We can find more sim time on the ERJ, thus releaving pressure off the CRJ side. As far as bombardier Canada is dumbing tons of money into them to keep them afloat....all over the news c-series is a bust. If they go under it would or could make it harder to get parts and keep our planes running. Wow I guess that was really hard to understand.....
1.) Canada is dumping a bunch of money into Bombardier so Endeavor might get Embraers? So the assumption is the CRJ will have to go away eventually and they are setting up for that now? That seems highly unlikely.
2.) If Endeavor gets Embraers we will need less CRJ sim time? What? Why? We will still need the same amount of sim time unless they get rid of the CRJs.
You do know there is a regional airline in bankruptcy that flies Embear jets for Delta right? Is that elementary enough for you?
