Probably on here in another post, but....How much variation is there in monthly reserve lines? I.e. Are they mostly 5 day reserve "blocks" or are there reserve lines with fewer consecutive reserve days that still meet min day off requirement? After post-OE initial schedule, does a new hire get to bid reserve lines with hard lines?

I know some do a two on one off sort of deal so they get fewer overnights, while commuters might try to consolidate work.

You can bid for what you want, block them together and have six in a row, or two on one off. All depends on your bid. Living in base v commuting, etc.

Thanks. My last 121 place let us bid hard, buildup, and reserve lines. Sometimes a reserve line was needed to get certain days off. Getting home based is a hope to provide the flexibility I need when I start. Any issue with getting more than min 11 days off when holding a reserve line? What about dropping or swapping a reserve day if needed?

Well scheduling is stupid, but I'm generally happy here. Pilots that haven't been here too long and actively trying to leave for career progression are happy. Pilots that have been here for years and can't get out are bitter. Probably a reason as to why they haven't been able to leave. In addition to that, all of the folks I know that are "lifers" are fairly happy too.

I did that too!! Worked for me. Had a tough choice in the end between EDV and PDT. picked PDT for a particular to me reason. Both are great choices today!
