Appreciate that, I guess it is more doable than I thought using public transit. Thank you!

Can a current pilot at Endeavor PM me? I am interested and have questions about QOL, culture at the company, life on the road (duty times, hotels, rest periods etc) , the schedule (commutable?, time on reserve? time to upgrade?), commuting and basing in New York (are pilots based in NYC or based at LGA or JFK only?) . I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

No, have zero desire to. It's a shame that we are being shifted to NYC from the Midwest. That's not going to help recruiting going forward...

are new hires sitting ready reserve until holding a line? If so is this every day or only a couple days out of a four and five day rotation?
also what is the most junior base? how long is to hold a line in a junior base?

It's all perspective. I'm glad flying is shifting to NY and so are a lot of people who are in the NY area. We are getting a lot of new hires from NY as well.

This comes up a lot, so I'll just throw some numbers out there. This is according to the July Award, the August is still in mock.

Most junior LGA900 line holder: Jan. 2016
JFK900: Sep. 2015
DTW900: Nov. 2015
MSP900: Nov. 2015
DTW200: Mar. 2016
MSP200: Feb. 2016

All the expansion is in NYC right now, so you can probably expect those reserve times to drop. I was one of a couple in my class to get sent to NY, but the last few classes have been almost entirely sent to LGA or JFK.

The max amount of days they can put you on reserve is six consecutive, and you have to allow that through a PBS option.

That's great, but when prospective new hires from anywhere but the NE look at where they want to work, being told they have to commute to NYC versus being at Skywest from day 1 in DTW or MSP, it's not going to help our recruiting, that is already hampered by having not so choice bases. And the whole ponzi scheme of a regional only works when you get new hires in the door.

Our recruiting numbers don't seem to back up your point that NY is a hindrance. Plenty of people wouldn't want to commute to DTW or MSP or anywhere outside the east coast. It works both ways.

There are quite a few pilots who are coming to Endeavor because of the two NY bases.

Fair enough, I suppose. I'm starting to think I perhaps made the wrong choice, seeing how it looks as if DTW and MSP are going to shrink.
