@seminole, I'll check with my buddy who went through it on 16-01, but he seemed to go into sim/FTD soon after class and I think his buildup was actual flying. Have fun on the 'heavy' with those crew meals, and never forget your roots! I said I'd stick to the 200 for a year before considering a switch. QOL is still better at my seniority so not worth a jump just yet.
Ha i can't imagine how much more weight i' going to gain eating those meals. I stuck it out on the 200 for a year and definitely enjoyed it. It's an awesome airplane to me and once you learn all the tricks about it flying it is a piece of cake. I'll miss the seniority but with all the new hires coming into the 900 I shouldn't really be a difference for me. I'm glad its AQP now though.

Yeah I feel you. I'll consider it down the line, had no prior 121 so it will take me time to upgrade. Didn't really want to go off the line for training but as its now AQP that should reduce the time. A few junior to me are switching, I'll watch their lines. When it comes to upgrade, 200 seems much better than 900 outside of NYC so I'm fine flying the jet I hopefully upgrade in.

Would bidding 200 in lga for this current vacancy be a smart move for recent new hire in training (based on your best educated guess folks who have been around awhile)? I got dtw initially but not a whole lot coming in behind me getting it. Trying to get off reserve as quickly as possible and thinking it may be a good move. Any insight would be appreciated

Hey all! I have my LOE coming up on the -900 and was wondering if anyone had any good advice on what to study for the oral. Thanks

Where do you live/where do you want to be?

@CFI21 check back a few pages, some folks posted tips about the oral.

I live in cinci, want to be in dtw but if i could be off rsv faster in lga id go there thats the thinking here. And once i could hold a line in dtw switch back. Ideally before winter.

Back of the slide binder you got for systems class has sample oral questions. Go over those and you'll do fine. Don't forget to practice the walk around using the slides on the website. The damage they show on the oral is blatantly obvious but I had my examiner ask me what the exhaust ports were on the tail end of the 200 (pack cooling vents) and a few other port/plug related systems questions.

200 reserve on DTW is only about a month. I passed my IQLOE before the 10th of July, Bid for August, and the mock shows me having a line already.

Are folks upgrading without meeting the company 1,000 hour policy by just having the standard 121 1,000 hours?

Yes. They didn't have enough people on the last vacancy and ended up calling FOs to see if the had the FAA required time even though they didn't have the company time.
