I was one of the first to go to the CTP course last year. No fancy paperwork for me!

Just finished the CTP course last week. Syllabus is in the FAQ packet and is as follows: Days 1-4 are classroom learning (they give you books to follow along with the ppt presentations each day) and days 5-7 are spent in the simulator. For me, it was a 1830-0000 sim block, but then you spend the whole day doing whatever (studying sheppardair, sleeping, etc...). Overall quite a fun experience!

Default New Hire looking for domicle information

Before I start class in December I am looking for information on what criteria should be used to select a domicile. I will be commuting out of Buffalo DTW is closer but JFK has twice as many daily flights in and out. Please post or PM me thanks for the information.

I wouldn't rule out LGA there's probably 8-10 flights per day. Easy walk to a Crashpad.

Question that I couldn't answer for a new hire...

Is it true that if you call in sick for a trip, you lose all the premium credits from other pick-ups that month?

No. You loose premium pay until you pick up an equal number of credit hours as you dropped/called, after that you will get premium credit,

No. Let's say you picked up 15 hours but called off for 10 hours in the month. You would only get premium pay for 5 hours.

Wow so if you call out for a four-day trip worth 25 hours, have picked up 15 hours, that month, then YES, you lose all the premium pay for that month. So in essence, you get penalized for being sick. Yes?

You're not getting penalized for being sick? Premium pay is for extra work, if you actually work less why would you expect to get paid for extra?
You're not actually penalized at all for being sick, but you're only going to get paid for work you actually do (plus sick time you had available).
