Was literally walking to the hotel shuttle and got pulled off a 4 day trip and got the call that im DH back to base and sitting 5am ready reserve tomorrow. It happens.

Call your assistant chief, they can have better guidance. Remember, if you are out of uniform you can be subject to normal passenger screening rules.

If you are coming to work the day before an assignment to stay in a hotel or crash pad in order to be at work the next day, you are not DHing. That is non-rev travel, and can be done in normal non-rev attire. Only if the company is paying for the ticket is it a DH.

Thanks. Yeah, this is on their dime. They are flying me in the night before to do an early flight the next morning.

In that case, I would wear regular clothes. It's not like you are going to get off the plane and go right to work.
When I go to training, even though it's a DH, I don't wear my uniform. A little different than your situation, but similar.
