Question about for the six-month upgrades for prior 121...
Are they going to be on reserve forever, or is there movement?
Is there airport reserve? How long are shifts?
Can you bid airport vs short call?

I appreciate it.

We do have a demographic hump of 2015 hires hitting the 121.436 requirements, however; we're growing substantially too.
That said; in NYC at least, you'll sit reserve a while. You will however fly like hell!
We don't have much Ready/Airport reserve now; and unlike other companies, the management & scheduling groups here are decent to work with.
I'm sorry I can't add much more; it's a moving target more than ever right now; with 50% growth in the 900 fleet and ATL opening; however, definitely the right kind of problems to have!
PM if you need more..

Default Contract Help -Move days

I've tried to find this myself, but headed to upgrade 17/03..
Upgrade gave me a base move, does that include the 3 move days after OE? Where is this in the contract; what should I search for? I tried the obvious key words, but am certainly no lawyer...
thanks!

Depends on base but I'd plan extra reserve time if you're a quick upgrade.

Is there airport reserve?
Yes

How long are shifts?
8 hours, 4 hours credit.

Can you bid airport vs short call?
Yes, you can volunteer but we don't have lines of ready reserve. Assigned to short call reserve as needed.

I tried to get moving days and the BS they told me is that I emailed planning or whoever too late?? I emailed them during ground school. Total bs explanation. So the word I got was you need to email them before you start training so they have 10 years notice....

Intranet> Resource Planning,> Network Scheduling & Op Analytics>Crew Planning/Bidding>Moving Benefits Request Form

1-A : Vol Move with LTT but WITHOUT a Principal Residence Change:must submit by END OF OEI am requesting four (4) days free from duty beginning with the first full calendar day after qualification in the new position.

Thats 4 days. Notification before the end of OE.

I'm a rehire guy from 2005 (Oct '16 class) and re-upgraded 4 months ago. Flying consistently on P1 and P2 in NYC. Junior guys like me are essentially street captains and will continue to be pushed to the bottom as the 2015 FO's get the 1000 121 time. CNO lines go junior so QOL is ok with the commute and extra day off. Not used a lot when I'm on P3. As far as ready reserve, they don't use it like the past, however, junior reserves will get it occasionally. Normal reserve shifts are 14 hours, Ready Reserve shifts are 8 hrs. You can request to sit ready reserve but you won't necessarily get it unless there is a need and extra Captains to assign it. Depending on movement, a quick upgrade would probably sit reserve at least a year to 18 months in NYC. But it could be longer depending on how many FO's take the upgrade and are willing to commute rather than hold off until they can hold their current base.
Hope this helps.

Question on deadheading to an assignment - I see the FOM says deadheading must be done in uniform. Does that also apply if you are deadheading in the day before the assignment?

Thanks!
