Mine seems to be about 95% or more accurate month after month.

I find that it's pretty accurate as far as my days off. However, the trips are always different

Is that done via Flica? I was told we don't get access until after OE... true?

Is the purpose of dropping reserve day to get actual flying or just to get the day off?

Yes, via Flica, and that is true.

If there is flying to be picked up, then you can do so. Or you can get the day off, although unpaid.

Well, I can either sit in a crash pad in LGA and not fly for 5 days in a row, or I can sit at home with my family.

Keeping in mind you lose pay for the days dropped.

When I go to training, even though it's a DH, I don't wear my uniform. A little different than your situation, but similar.
I know a couple of guys that dh incognito a lot. They say no one really cares as long as they don't do dumb stuff like drink.
