Negotiations start the last week of this month. Union says whatever loa comes of it will most likely go to pilot vote because it will have to do with pay rates.
As far as the 12 yr captain rate, they are just trying to make the senior guys whole again from the bankruptcy.
On a side note, the union wouldn't say from who they'd be coming from, but to expect the 200s to be coming online here starting first quarter so I'd personally expect to hear news from the company before Christmas on that front.

My gut actually says no. As a 50 seat NYC based pilot, it appears, at least JFK has the 50 seat flying covered fully and there are no other DCI 50 seaters there to take over (unless DAL wants to up the frequency). As to where the flying is going to be...and cue the nay sayers...I think it'll be ATL flying...just not enough to justify opening a base there though IMHO.

During recurrent a few months back it was was specifically stated by a union rep and JS esq that subsets might see a cut. Talking points included the possibility of rolling the bonus in at average line value (80-ish hours) and that individuals making guarantee might see a decrease in pay annually.
In essence they would divide the bonus by (12 x 80-ish) to determine hourly pay rate increase. If you bid 75 hours you would see a decrease in annual compensation. Im not saying this is how it will go down but the idea has been floated.
I can guarantee that someone did say "slight" cuts were possible.

I'm confused. I read about growth and how they can't fill classes/fast upgrades and now I am reading that guys are falling back to reserve after 10 years. Is this base dependent?

Yes. DTW and MSP have slowed down with the buildup of NYC. As has been mentioned, much of the NYC expansion has been settled, so let's see what happens now.
