If you can't afford a $300 crash pad on 60K a year, you need to learn to budget better.

It's about $33,000 until refunds come around, so it really isn't that affordable; especially dealing with student loans like most of us are.
Combine that with non commutable lines.
Combine that with a $300/month crashpad to sleep in a 3 bedroom apartment with 20 beds.
I really hope NYC doesn't grow beyond 55%.
This airline has 1600+ pilots, and I would wager <400 want to be in NYC.
Anyone want to guess where the openings will be on the next vacancy?

Look I worked several years at a DCI regional and I have good friends at DAL. I feel that I am owed nothing. But you have to admit that it is nothing more than a C scale to fly for them at a regional. The budgeting is irrelevant.

I'm just starting the crashpad search in NYC. Found a few options that aren't 20+ heads per address. And they're all around $220-275/month. Just gotta do your homework. And I'll be commuting from out west, already starting the planning process. We will see what this grand adventure has in store for me!

That's still about $10k more than when I started a few years ago. I'll take the pain on NYC flying for a few years to get to mainline...where I'll likely continue to fly in/out of NYC, only to those fat mainline checks.

TW is now telling the recurrent classes that the new base isn't happening, and if it does happen it's Cvg or rdu.
