haha I hope that works best. I went into MoA to check out some of those North Face deals and I can't believe how expensive them things are. They are so thin but warm and can be rolled into luggage with ease but 350 clams? Gotta wait until our bonus check posts.

Go to REI in Bloomington and shop their garage and scratch&dent area. I got a REI brand jacket for 60% just because some guy didn't like the fit. Easy way to get good stuff for a more reasonable price.

"Never goes out of style" black leather jacket. Cuz the blazer is ineffective, and the trench coat is a PITA to lug around and store.

I bought a "North Face" like jacket at the stop over store in MSP for $50. They had plain black without the Delta logo on it. You can get one with Delta on it but I chose not to. Nice clean look and warm.

Are these uniform approved pieces or just for wearing elsewhere?

Technically not approved. I wear it because it's practical and still looks good. It packs down nice when I'm in 70° FL or break it out when I'm in -15° MSP. There was talk a while ago about us getting a 3/4 length wool coat but that has since been squashed. To bad because that would look better than the Chester the Molester trench coat.

Yup, this is the best way to shop, not just at places like REI. Cabela's also has a bargain cave in store (and online). Every piece of North Face I own has been bought at a discount in one of those type places. Granted, now isn't the time of year you find the best deals, but all the sporting good type places sell stuff in a scratch & dent/closeout type area.

Anyway, looks like we are all staying warm-ish. Now what? Anyone have any good info on the Mad Dog scooting off the runway in Detroit? Was it an overrun? turn off the runway too fast without traction? or directional control issue that may resemble last year's LGA incident?
