Assuming that even 150 of them are captains, that only comes up to roughly 300 upgrades, plus additional outside attrition. Someone hired today has roughly 500 2015 hires in front of them for upgrade. I just don't see 2 year upgrades continuing for people brought on property without significant fleet growth beyond the 14 200's.

I'm not downplaying this place, I'd rather see new hires told the realistic situation than being sold a bill of goods that everyone knows isn't possible.
Only 300 upgrades? That's more than 1/3 of FO's here. How many more could we even train? According to mgt 14ac is all we can handle to grow this year. Getting new a/c isn't the
Problem, don't you see that? It's getting pilots to fly them

I agree, though there is an upper limit somewhere out there. The pool of regional jobs will remain fairly constant over time. The only thing that may change is how many jobs each contractor controls.

I'll personally feel better about the airplane growth when we start bring on 700s or better and let the 200s fade away.
We're already among the highest compensated regional pilots. I Think $ isn't the problem now to grow. Bases/career progression.

We are currently THE highest. But will we remain so once we get rid of the bonus is the question.

I agree about the base, but that will get better next bid.

Seems like to me the biggest pay problem is paying people in the training department. Outside of that, until something is done to convince new ATPs that coming here for a shot at Delta is better than a wait for your number to come up to go to American, I don't think we can grow beyond 14 airplanes hoenstly. Lack of west coast flying also hurts recruiting. 300 upgrades is good, but until the other issues are solved, I will be amazed if thrrr is any future growth. Trading 200s for 700/900s isn't growth.

I see there's a pic of the newest ground school grads on the 9E FB page. Congrats to all! Good luck with sims.

To those in there, any salacious rumors you can confirm or deny?

Kind of surprised to see this promotion from Ed himself! Based on his remarks, sounds like people in Atlanta are pretty happy with our performance here at EDV. Nice work, everyone!

Now if we could only tighten up the language of the only defined path to delta. To flip a coin and you might get hired then it would be spot on!

Who knows....first we adopt Delta flows, then Ed Bastion praises 9E on a very public forum...hopefully the next step is an announced flow or a more defined progression to mainline. Stranger things have happened.
