It’s easy to make fun of his stuff as cheesy and pointless but his target audience is aspiring pilots. Although I think he’s peaked.

This argument keeps getting repeated and is really weak. It's not preferential treatment. Envoy thinks he has a talent and wants him to do another job. Are check airmen getting preferential treatment? No, they were picked because they have a talent - training. What about pilots who appear in safety videos? What about pilots airlines use as brand ambassadors at colleges? What about pilots airlines use in their homepage puff pieces?

Envoy does not want their pilots representing the brand on social media without oversight. Oversight takes time and resources. They would rather spend those resources on someone they know is capable of representing the company well.

Talent or not, check airman is an option afforded to pilots as part of the contract. Social media spokesperson at the expense of others is not. He is making money by BEING EMPLOYED AT ENVOY, outside of what is within the contract. If he wants to do that he should be off the seniority list.

Yes, there are plenty of haters, FOR PERSONAL REASONS, and they have no place here or anywhere else, but those of you cheerleading him are working your way to THKoolAid status.

Is there something in your contract that prevents seniority list pilots from doing other jobs within the company? I know ALPA pilots who have made software the company bought from them. And Delta uses actual line pilots for their safety videos. No one asked me if I wanted to be in a safety video. Chief pilots are on the seniority list, but that isn't anyone can do.

THIS ^ ... How about all you losers who complain constantly about this kid use your time and energy to build a skill and resource that can make you money too. Envoy wasn’t Swayne’s first stop.

A simple search of his channel shows how he built a portfolio of experience working with the FAA through Boldmethod and Mokulele Airlines before having some regional like Envoy bat an eye at the thought of him filming in a jet.

^^^This guy gets it. Swayne has done nothing other than paint Envoy and American Airlines in a very positive light. Yes, it absolutely helps with recruiting. I’ve been there and it ain’t an easy job to pick through stacks of resumes from every Tom, Dick and Harry that aspire to be American Airlines pilots. To get into the pipeline, you first have to be vetted and let me tell you, there are all kinds out there who shouldn’t even be riding AA as a passenger. So, chill about the dude. He works very hard and in the end is doing YOU a service.

He is still an Envoy pilot. You may disagree with the content, but let's not call other pilots douches unless they do something to hurt other pilots. I doubt his business ventures hurt you or the pilot group in any way.
