I was here for that. People were unhappy so they voted for someone else for the full term. Thats how the process is supposed to work.
Im not sure of any dues money wasted. Most reps don't spend a penny, speaking at a meeting is free.

This is probably true to an extant because while we have written TOS they have to interpreted by Mods who are individuals. And while there is obviously not one way to handle every situation I would be willing to say more often than not the variance is on the side of being too lenient vice too harsh. Sometimes MODs can not keep up with the traffic.

To paraphrase a wise Indian Chieftain - We MODs are few - posters are many. :) If you think folks are constantly getting away with TOS violations help us out by reporting them - this will ensure that the posts in question are definitely being scrutinized.

One time I reported somebody who dropped in and spammed Rickroll link, one of the mods showed up and posted in the thread and it was clear that he thought it was funny.

Pilots are grug-brained creatures on average. Set your expectations lower.

Does the airline use the boldmethod clickbait he writes as the pilots quarterly training?

I've seen boldmethod images in our quarterly CBTs. No clue how that works, doubt it's licensed. And doubt they (boldmethod) even care. Those images have gotta be in every CFI binder and flight school powerpoint from the last 5 years hahaha. If they're still making money off of that stuff though, more power to him. As an outsider, I agree with most of you guys. I don't understand the hate and good for him for capitalizing on a trend. Shrug.

SM is an enemy of your pilot group 100%. His video’s are actually very good, professionally done, and legal, unlike every other wanna be pilot YouTuber. BUT what his videos do is influence clueless teenagers to spend $100,000 in student debt to go make 45K a year, with terrible work rules. He’s creating more supply for management and less demand, which doesn’t matter now, but will in the future. Less demand equals less leverage, equals less pay for the pilot group.

What makes the situation worse is that he benefits financially by his situation while hurting the pilot group unintentionally.

The common theme here is.... SM is a decent human being, but bad for for the pilot group. Good on him for the hustle, but shame on him for doing what no one else can’t and thus go against the pilot group.

There is definitely a culture amongst pilots and SM seems to gone against it. Through the fame and money, I still wouldn’t want to be him.
