Now that’s what I call a reason to fly for Envoy! Just add a little sweet in there with one of the FA’s and you got yourself a sweet yet salty kinda job! Dilly Dilly

I haven't flown with a captain who was senior to me in 3 months.

This is a common defense people like to throw out but sadly, experience is relative and therefore needs to be treated as such. Asking someone to compare their current feelings with that of someone they don't know, haven't spoken with, didn't interact with all because it makes an argument better doest work.
While we appreciate what you’re going through, it is not an unfair expectation to somehow think that that people now have the ability to realize that while they may feel screwed, they internally should know they’re actually very lucky.

This is a common defense that millennial types like to use in an attempt to turn the tables and control the narrative. Experience may be relative, but learning from history isn’t. Trying to write off the history of our profession, and the experience, is a slap in the face insult to everybody who’s come before you. It’s the equivalent of saying, it’s all about me; who cares what you went through.

I really don’t think you appreciate it at all. That was purely lip service.

Sounds like a post from a bitter old man that was part of the lost decade and never flowed. Why don't you give it a rest? You don't even work here!

It's one thing to get caught up in a bear market that drags everybody down, it's another to land the wrong fleet and get a garbage experience compared to people 400 numbers junior to you. What people are complaining about now isn't as bad, but the difference is that none of it is necessary at all and it would even unlock operational efficiencies if it wasn't done.

WoW, you have some issues. I am not a millennial but I notice that a lot of people like to throw out the "millennial defense" anytime someone doesn't see it their way. I am married with three kids, all of which are teenagers or older and in my second half of life, so give me a break with your millennial crap.

If you read what I am saying, I didn't say one couldn't empathize with someone that came before them, but my point was rather you cant expect someone to NOT feel bad about THEIR situation simply because someone prior to them had it worse. Thats like asking someone who is starving to not feel like they are starving simply because someone prior to them was more starving.

Human advancement is such that in a lot of areas people who came before us had it harder, but that doesn't devalue what we may be feeling RELATIVE to what WE ARE EXPERIENCING. What someone had before them that they know nothing about, have no vested interest in the individual or were not a part of cant be asked to somehow shelve their personal feelings for "the old guys".

Perhaps if you were not so quick to call me a "millennial" and actually read what I was responding to you wouldn't come off like a bitter ass.

Hopefully you are just having a bad morning due to all the cancelations and you don't actually judge people so quickly. Sorry about the caps but I felt I had to defend my position with key words so they won't get missed.

Spot on. Great post. I think you sum up the feelings of the majority of Envoy guys here. This guy is just bitter he will have to wave to us in an AA cockpit when he passes us in some ratted out 145 for a fly by night operator.

The point is, when you’re feeling low and unhappy, remember how hard others have had it.... that should make you feel better. I guess sarcasm isn’t your thing. Feel lucky, because you are. The worst job in the best place is still better than the best job in the worst place.
