And even then you’re still ahead career wise from a guy hired 1992-2006 who all had to do over 11-20 years to flow to AA. and you’re doing it without having to do 4000+ hours in beech 1900’s first.
See, It’s all relative.

I do agree that much of the torture at ENY could easilly be fixed by having a management that wanted to be partners in building a successful airline rather than task masters each trying to outdo the other to gain recognition by getting more from their fellow employees.

When guys flow or move up anywhere else they’ll realize how poor the management really was. It’s amazing working at places where you really are made to feel like a valued contributor and partner rather than a tool to be used, abused, threatened and beaten.

The pilot shortage really ramps up starting this year. Mainline, legacy jobs will start hiring like crazy. You’re losing monthly 29 to flow and 26 to other airlines currently. Expect that “to other airlines” to grow by a third and then by 2020 to outright double.

Why would you want to fly for a company who can’t even pay you your last checks?
It’s called respect.

This is false, from a legal standpoint. The company cant NOT pay you what is owed. However, if you have outstanding obligations from your bonus, uniform allowance etc, they can certainly use your last paycheck to help recoup the costs.

That is a far cry from they simply won't pay you. A company this big isn't going to risk a lawsuit or bad press because you chose to leave for greener fields.

Why would a company want to have an employee that cant even muster up the maturity and professionalism to give a country wide standard of two weeks notice?

I mean this isn't a job at gas station, you may want to think long term before burning bridges as you never know when you may need to cross back over one.

No matter what the job, always give a minimum 2 weeks notice. Even if the employer was going to illegally keep from you owed compensation, keeping that sort of black mark off of your work history is worth it.
