But there were no new hires for almost a year and a half, plus a hemorrhage of eligible FOs. If they don’t change something to keep those folks here, I foresee forced upgrades into the 145 and possibly DECs again in the next year and a half.

I think they’ll consolidate the three regionals at some point too.

Debating between jumping ship at RPA and switching to Envoy before I start military pilot training in the spring. I’m an FO currently at RPA with good seniority, but I’m coming back off of military leave and training is backed up. I want to go to American and the flow, bonuses, and ORD/MIA bases at Envoy are attractive. I’m typed in the 175 so hoping that might help get me the 175 if I decide to come. Pros Cons? Worth staying at Republic if I want to get to American down the road or will my military time make it irrelevant to need to go to a WO? And are the current FO bonuses worth it?

Honestly I would use your military time to get into the mainline carriers, that looks much better than making a lateral move to another regional. AA typically doesn’t hire much from non-WO regionals, but they do hire a lot of military pilots. I’d definitely use that to your advantage and stay put at YX.

AA just got done buying us new airplanes. Envoy is covering flying in 3 other hubs.
Envoy isn’t going anywhere.
Training backlog is because of management’s inability to plan and spool up our training department in time for COVID recovery. The complaints here mostly stem from a management that reacts rather than plans ahead and below average reserve rules.
Otherwise the pay here is at the top end of the regional level, we have desirable bases, a large fleet, career progression, commuter hotels, and good AA flight benefits. And despite what you read on here, I think most people are in fact happy here.
