If you do end up not feeling well the next day, ask them to specifically extend your sick call. Otherwise you might get slapped with two sick calls for a two day absence and that's no bueno

Call in for the whole trip, you can always choose to come back early. Otherwise you risk getting multiple occurrences and CPO asking why you called in sick 4 times.... happened to a buddy of mine. Big hassle and rather bureaucratic pain to fix.
