The management playing hardball??? you don't say Captain obvious, I think we can agree that they have been doing that for years. My point is the union keeps falling for it time and time again and should have known better after the Reserve rules debacle. Hence my comment to get some education from folks that know what they are doing when it comes to hostile management. But then again, our Union leadership is about to flow, so can't ruffle too many feathers cause that could affect that ...
The ONLY thing that will tip your hand is a serious (to them) staffing issue.
Otherwise, you have no leverage at all.
Sorry to be so blunt.

It depends. If the desired outcome is “wait and see what happens” with no specific timeframe, then a “cool-down” makes perfect sense. If the desired outcome is lower new-hire class sizes. Maybe marketing/education (billboards, Facebook ads, ADs on APC, etc.) would be a better use of union resources.
Personally, I’d rather see my union dues spent on negative advertising, instead of donut parties in the crew room, and do-nothing “cool-down” PUB events at Red Robin.

And I also don’t understand why our dues don’t pay for some professional negotiators as well. All of us, including the MEC, are professional PILOTS. I’m not saying that nobody has additional skills, but why don’t we have professional negotiators? We pay the dues. Let the professional do what they are trained to do. At the very least some people to supervise and consult. Not like the company doesn’t have professionals on retainer.

I agree with what you said but alpa national wont allow you and the mec lawyers take orders from alpa national not the mec. Envoys pilots biggest problem is bill couette at national, an eagle guy who has not flown the line in 20 years, makes almost 300k with all the extras does not give a crap about envoy.
Just an opinion.

I agree. FACTUAL advertisements, not say anything negative, that can’t be refuted. That’s all informational picketing is. Why can’t we do the same?

I don’t know the details of what happened at Spirit. But if it’s FACTUAL, I’m not sure how well slander will hold up in court.
