We all took the gamble and came to a WO for the flow, primarily, sadly we got burned and it didn't work out. Time to start working on exit plans or come to terms that you will be at this airline, with this management, with this toothless union for at least ten years. As a clarification, I dont blame the union for this, we just dont have any bite in our bark at this level because they know we are all trying to get out and dont want anything on our records. Now that things are more bleak, who knows, people may be willing to roll the dice a little more now.

For those that may get lucky and time this just right, great, but that is going to be a very small percentage. AA has sent out their WARN letters as well now, so all of those pilots get hired back before a flow starts up again.

At the end of the day, you either need to LOVE this lifestyle enough to come to terms with being a regional pilot for ever, or at least a much longer time than you ever thought, or start working on another career.
I really hate that I agree with this post completely and think it should be required reading.

Flow at 44.0 years.

There’s no reason to think they would throw out the flow agreement in bankruptcy. There are no cost savings involved in getting rid of it.

The last round of bankruptcy and then additional concessions the company actually offered to increase the flow.
They never truly honored their agreements, but that is a separate problem...

I mean you are not wrong, certainly. In fact, the offer they made this company was so good it is shocking the group didn't accept it. Had they, virtually all of them would have been at AA by now. Still, just because last time they did it and it was an increase to flow, doesnt mean they will do it again. Like you said, getting them to honor anything would be a tough job and I am not personally willing to take any concessions for a flow increase unless it is rock solid language, like 55% of every class, with no cap, has to be WO pilots. Even then, the flow has shown to be worthless given here we sit, with flow and it basically not existing.

You guys. Thboob said that the flow would not stop and in fact it’s SHRINKING!! Take heart!

he made me see the light. Leaving envoy was CRAZY stupid on my part when I could have waited 10-20 years on a possible flow?! I miss Waco and Harlingen already :-(

The offer for increased flow (5 years ago) came with major pay concessions. That’s why they voted no. Exactly what you said you would do in the second half of your answer.

As for everyone mocking the flow, I’m not sure what the “I told you so” is all about. You could have 5000TPIC, 3 PHD’s, run your own homeless shelter and have a space shuttle type rating, and you still won’t be flying for a Legacy carrier in the next 3 years minimum.

Were you hired by Spirit or Frontier at the time? Just curious

Thats not the one I am referring too. I am referring to the one that gave us like 50% of each new hire class had to come from Envoy (this percentage could be wrong, I am trying to go off memory here). This would be the offer before AA got ****ed, sent the planes to Compass and offered us our current contract. Essentially the pilot group overplayed their hand, thought they meant more to AA and were quickly spanked for it, pretty hard.

I dont think I am saying "I told you so" and I may have to go back and re-read comments, but I dont recall anyone saying it either, perhaps I missed one. I think we are all disappointed it didn't work out and are all coming to the conclusion that we need to give up that idea and focus more on hard contract improvements, given our current sentence at Envoy.

You made a smart decision coodrough. Trust me. Give things a year or so and you'll see why.
