Any tips or tricks I should know that will make my life a bit easier being a new commuting 145 ORD guy?
Anything specific about the jet that you guys like/dislike? The best tip I can offer is resign and go somewhere else. Junior on the 145 at envoy is a special place in hell. |

Maybe look at a previous month as Dera said.
"Next" month is all DECS knows, and next month is now November since it's past the 15th. Got to go to fos.aa.com and look up the flight number, gate, and origin and destination. |
And another MEC Chairman has chosen to leave Envoy for an outside carrier. Looks like ND is heading to JetBlue. Clearly the promise of flow and large sums of cash isn’t working as well as AAG had hoped.

I hope the MEC has done a better job than we did recruiting FO's into union positions. We had been stagnant for so long that the union had the benefit of volunteers with years and years of experience. That isn't the case now, and if they don't start getting FO's involved early, they'll lose all the institutional knowledge that had been accumulated with nobody functional to pass it to except a newbie. |

They do a pretty good job if that. Unfortunately there are plenty with no experience, period. Someone who has literally done nothing besides flight instructing prior to being hired doesn’t bring much to the table.

those are exactly the ones to target. That way the effort to teach and train is retained within the union the longest. Lifers are another good choice, but have limits on where you put them since you don’t want too many in leadership decision making as their career objectives are not representative of the majority. They make great committee chairman, grievance committee especially…. Not so much as LEC/MEC members. You need a few for perspective but not too many.
I agree that everyone’s interests needs to be represented but you need to have some maturity to even know what is in your best interest. |
