What? I have always looked at it of compensating me for what they ask me. The FOM or GOM will lay out what is it expected of you. That's what I do and not an inch more. I don't say hi to the TSA agent or gate agent since I'm not required to. Why do something if they're not going to pay you for it?

I was under the impression, the company paid gratuity. They’re responsible for the transportation to and from the airport.

Not sure whatever gave you that impression. You do however get per diem from the company.

How often do you spend per diem on transportation to and from the airport? My guess is never.

I use per diem to cover miscellaneous expenses while I am on the road, which often includes tipping and not just van drivers.
