There were a couple of crew room fistfights and some verbal altercations as I recall, but after awhile things quieted down, although each group had their own "turf" within the same crew room with some eyeing each other suspiciously.

The "East Texas Mafia" was a label coined to describe the then MEC, most of whom were Texas "good 'ole boys" firmly entrenched with and quite cozy with Eagle (Metro/Simmons) management.

Eaglefly were you there in the 90's?

I was. I became an "Eagle" pilot in the mid-late 80's.

Mesa pilots cannot even non rev on AA right now, let alone their family. Their USair benefits are lacking for families as well - priority well below an envoy family.

Most of the non wholly owneds have crap travel benefits compared to the wholly owneds. If you are someone that got into this to enjoy travel, I would say a WO has much more value as a result.
[yawn] All you see is me "bashing" Envoy and I really couldn't care less what you think you see.

Yes, Envoy's travel bennies may be somewhat better than most, but that's not my point. If your myopic bias didn't block your vision so much, you'd note my point wasn't the competitiveness of Envoy's travel bennies per se, but the consideration of them above more important factors or what SHOULD be for a pilot looking to gain as much ground in this segment of their career and that goes for ANY regional.

You got some real issues, pal.

That would be fabulous. The more of the usual suspects I can get to slither back under their rocks like you, the better off we will ALL be.

Compensation (pay/401(k)) and work rules (QOL) along with advancement potential, stability (keeping that advancement, let alone job) and treatment should all be above non-rev travel, at least if one is smart and in my opinion.

I know pilots at other regionals who have the ability (and HAVE) to travel just like you do. Envoy isn't in a vacuum when it comes to this benefit.
My take on the pass privileges is that-- for a new pilot just out of college with student loans to pay, he's probably not gonna have a lot of extra money for things like trips to Hawaii. He or she is probably gonna try to fly over and above reserve to be able to pay the bills. Most newbies probably won't have a working spouse so they're prob doing it on their own Mabee with help from parents and family.
If envoy is screwing people on reserve and lines down to 60 hours--that's def gonna be an alpha 3 item right there.

People perusing this forum and others trying to make a decision as to which regional to start their career at will immediately key into things like this and steer away. That plus the lies about flow--it all adds up to a major staffing problem.

I would say that I would rank it this way.

1. Pay
2. Bases
3. treatment.

On the subject of number 3 above. Obviously I wouldn't expect to be treated like the mayor of the city in q parade everytime I came to work, but on the same token, I wouldnt want to be kicked in the nuts with a golf shoe either.

I would not go there just for a suppose flow thru. Especially with the retirement numbers looming. I'd get my time and get the hell out.

I have issues? You seem to have devoted your life to posting about how much envoy sucks. You never say anything positive and you are never wrong. For someone who has supposedly moved on from here to AA, you sure do spend A LOT of time on here like you are on a mission. Barely a post goes by without you hammering away. If you really had been here for 20 some years, like I have, you would want to see the place succeed, and you would know that things change fast. Instead, you bash bash bash, and then tell someone else they are a troll and has problems. Oooookayyy.

Highly unlikely you are who you say you are. My guess, if you actually are even ex-Eagle, is that you are the same guy using "Thrustlever" on Eaglelounge, who has gotten quieter as you have gotten louder over here.

That's what a new pilot should weigh more, i.e., that which would "get them the hell out" of the regionals. Besides, if you don't have pay and scheduling first, who would have the money and/or time to travel in the first place ?

Oh, go play with your brother and don't bother daddy while he's talking to others. I'm having perfectly good conversations with other adults and your childish obsessions are becoming a nuisance. You have perfectly good new G.I. Joe to play with if your brother is watching TV, now buzz off.........
