So a person who applies today and is offered a job faces the prospects of four years of not having a line? I guess that's why they are offering a signing bonus. Does Envoy simply have too many pilots for the number of aircraft they fly? Is that why reserve time is so long?
Of course I and a few others have a different OPINION on the validity of that all but certain claim and personally, I feel it's a disservice to represent that as fact, when it is not. No one knows what AAG's true plan with Envoy is and that plan may not be something Envoy management wants or is even aware of themselves. Their job is to just keep the Envoy feed footprint going as best they can. Stay tuned over the next 6 months to see if all these predictions really are certainties or just desires.

Mainly since we started shrinking in November 2011 due to BK, there has been stagnation all over. Parked the ATRs, the 135s, most of the 140s, 30 145s,CRJ's to other carriers, etc. As a result, shrinking through attrition has caused long reserve and upgrade times.
As for what a person can expect in 4 years, well, there are more than a few opinions on here as to what to expect. I'll let them chime in. Look for a guy named RJ Pilot - he really knows his stuff and always wishes you good luck. Good peoples.

The Cuj will deliver as promised.
Good Luck!

No it isn't 4yrs. I just flew with an FO who was a LINE holder that has a bit over 1 year of seniority. He finished IOE in 2014. Not even sure what the actual junior line holder is but it's nowhere near 4 years. Maybe in some statuses but not all of them.

It sounds like Envoy is overstaffed to begin with, and that is before the departure of the 47 CRJ700's that just began. If reserve is 4 years today, it sounds like it will go much higher now. Waiting for cujo to set the record straight.

Buddy of mine over there says he was in the CPs office and overheard that you guys will likely be getting a lot more 175's than originally thought. Some may be coming from an as yet undisclosed carrier. Take that vague rumor for what you will. Rumor also has it that AAG would like to move even more of its feed in-house. Bad news for AWAC and RAH and some others, good news for the wholly-owneds.
