I was thinking you first get hired at American with a conditional offer of employment whereby you first have to put put in x amount of years of service at their regional. Although that is essentially what Delta tried to do with Endeavor but it didn't work. I think the key for that scenario is issuing an actual mainline seniority number where you have seniority comparable to new hire mainline FO's that are already coming in to American from a regional.

Although there is a fairly strong chance none of this will matter 12 months from now. 2015 is forecasting 1044 baby boomer retirements from the legacy carriers (including Fedex, UPS, and Alaska). I'm not sure there is currently 1000 pilots in the pipeline but I could be wrong.

Compass did that. You didn't get a actual number but when your time ot flow came u and they held you then you kept your spot. I remember having a friend that was held for an extra 3 or 6 months. Can't remember which. But once he showed up he knew he was getting DTW 737 and he already had 420 pilots below him. He said they could've kept him at compass longer if they wanted.

So for those (like me) on the outside looking in, what's in this TA for the Envoy pilots that wasn't in the old TAs that have already been voted down?

OK, that is what I was kinda figuring reading the last few pages. So it's the same deal (+/-) as before, but less guaranteed airplanes....why would it pass this time around? I'd figure that would just **** off all the Envoy guys more?

It is a bad offer, and worse than before. This time, however, AAG showed the MEC a 3 year plan to shut them down, with details about how and when they were going to do it. That is the main difference. They know if they don't vote yes, they will cease to exist.

More FEAR. Since the last vote, they have announced Envoy CRJ's going to PSA, awarded 20 E175s to Compass and now some E145s to TSA and PDT. Everything they are doing is calculated to incite fear. Union Busting 101.

this is how it breaks down
1. your guaranteed 10-15% yes voters due to fear or weakness.
2. 12,500 bonus for captains. some who would not flow will now flow and use this money as a cushion for the pay cut. 10-15%
3. the flow enhancements which is not much different from what we have now but sounds good when you spin it. 10-15%
4. those who have been no votes are just beaten down like a wet dog. 10-15%
5. mid level seniority captains get the 12,500 dollars but have to wait for there turn to flow but if this passes then number 2 above with the senior pilots leave on the flow these captains move up on seniority better schedules and QOL while they wait to flow. 10-15%

this gives you somewhere between 50-75% that they are looking at as yes voters. even if you median it, 62.5% yes voters, thats what aag is looking at.

Through Buddies8, OK thanks. I ASSumed that the threat of liquidation was already taken into account with the bankruptcy contract and votes 1&2(lost count?), but I guess Fabregas is more serious now? If these mainline CEOs keep liquidating regional airlines, they're going to run out of guys/gals to whipsaw against each other!

Anyway, good luck to you guys/gals, whatever you decide to do. Interesting times for sure.

Source. I've not heard of any such plan.
