I maybe wrong but I think your d2p has to be a parent step parent or in-law. Fraudulent use of that is grounds for termination.

Unless it changed which is possible.

Correct. And it can only be your "Parents In Law" if your actual parents are dead. I know many people that have tried to switch the benefits from their parents that never use the benefits to their step parents that would use them, but it is not allowed by AA.

Don't forget about the D2Rs (retirees) in your priority heirarchy:

D1, D2, D2R, D2P, D3

That is all.

Correct..my point being you can switch between an actual parent, step-parent, or in-law each year. But only once per year. Should have clarified that. Thanks..

Another note on travel benefits: your actual boarding priority within your status is determined by check-in time. So say you are travelling with your wife as D2s. Your ranking among other D2s on that same flight would be determined by when you checked in. Check in can be done up to 24 hours prior to departure time and you can do it from home on your computer or our Jetaway app. You would still be ahead of any D3s and D2Ps regardless of what time you checked-in and behind any D1s.

Pilots from other airlines (including non-wholly owned regionals) fall somewhere below D3s or level with them.

Regionals that support Eagle operation and have somewhat of AA benefits fall under AAC and that is above D3. Anyother pilot commuting will fall under D6 Category

I have tried checking in with D2's exactly 24 hours prior and I still see some other D2's ahead, how do they do it??

Does it say D2T or just D2.
D2T is thru passenger non rev connecting from another flight with the same PNR locator number.

If it is just D2, they are just faster on the button, happens all the time.

They could be D2Ts, a connection from an earlier flight. They could also be a rollover from a prior flight.

Some also have faster fingers. I've mashed the check in button maybe a half second too late and had a couple people in front of me. It just happens.
