Guys I'm flying the line here. It isn't and hasn't been fun. We will never be the old eagle. However the higher up changed and things are beingput in place to make it better. I do believe this is real and Sam isn't lying in HIS emails.

Guys I'm an ex Union rep who voted no and swing the b scale for 900 offer. I'm just being honest on this and I'm hopeful and believe the movement will continue on a realistic timeline in our favor.

Actually, it was a brilliant statement. I know many people at AA who have 16-18 days off a month, fly one leg a day, overnight in Auckland for 32 hours, make close to $300,000 a year, take the equivalent of 6 months vacation a year, and think they have the worst job in the world.

Sat on a mainline jumpseat lately? Bet you have. Heard anyone complain about how miserable they are, and recount how much better things were back in the day? Bet you see it all the time. Going to mainline will certainly be better, but you will likely find yourself miserable there as well in time.

Personally, I look at airline flying as more of a lifestyle than a job. Yes, our schedules were much better and couldn't get much worse. I hear the same things from my friends at mainline. But my question is, if envoy is so bad...why are you still here? I'll bet there's a few billion people that would give anything to have your job.

Great so you know some whiny AA pilots. Good for you. I'll tell you one thing, when schedules were good here for years, I didn't complain about them. In fact I bragged about them. You sound like another management stooge telling us all pilots are whining and entitled. Do you expect that argument to work on a pilot forum?

Why am I still at envoy? Why do you management stooges always ask that as if you didn't know the answer? So your opinion is that we should just blindly accept whatever happens to our quality of life, no matter how bad it gets.

The schedules at Envoy have sucked for a while now. Longer time away from base for the same pay. However, in the past, nobody in management nor the union indicated they would be getting better. In fact, it was said that not much could be done about it. I distinctly remember a letter from the scheduling committee in the spring that said exactly that.

Below is a letter that was sent out by the outgoing scheduling committee chairman last month. The timing of the letter coincidences with the pay increases at Envoy. I think AAG knows the schedules are a top priority, but they can't just change the flight file in 1 month. I'm willing to bet once January rolls around, we'll see the type of drastic improvement in the schedules we've just received in pay.

MEC Chairman Sam Pool has been told that starting later this year or early next year AAG will provide at least one midday turn per city (with an ENY overnight) per day to allow pilots to get into and out of those cities in an attempt to try to limit the longer overnights. We are still trying to get a better flight file to help our productivity. Also, AAG has reorganized network planning, the department that gives envoy the flight file. Those now in charge seem immediately more receptive to ENY’s input. We are hoping that now AAG will rearrange the regional flying so we get a better flight file. Pleasantly, we received the file over a week early this month, which is a marked departure from the past.

A few weeks ago, Kyle Flynn, the DFW LEC rep had a meeting with John Dixon to try to help the Scheduling Committee get some changes to improve our pilots’ QOL. I’m told that the meeting was very productive and we may have some positive changes coming for the November bid lines. The October E145 lines had some sequences that deadheaded to and from MIA that we were able to put together into a line to help out the MIA pilots. We tried, but could not find enough sequences in JFK to do the same. The CRJ had more 4 on 3 off than in September, and there’s hope to improve that further in November. The E175 is starting to have the same problems as the rest of the fleets. The biggest problem is the number of RSV the company needs to run the airline. The Company has a self-imposed minimum number of reserves that they want available. If we were able to decrease this number we would have more bodies with which to increase the number of lines. An increase in the number of lines would likely result in increased days off. This also holds true if we got more pilots on property.

In closing, I’d like to thank my brother and sister pilots at Envoy for the chance to serve as your scheduling committee, and I look forward to seeing you all at AA someday soon.

That's fine, but we are all definitely here to vent, and this it'll be better in January isn't cutting it. 4 on 2 off is torture, out trips on the 700 absolutely suck. 18 hours is considered a great trip now!? Last trip I did was 4-5-4-1 just got 17 hours out of it. We always here it's going to be better in January. But will make it better, if we're doing 4 legs in a day and only getting 5.27 out of it, then trips will remain the same. The 700 at envoy is being utilized like the 145. But fly at .80 and that piece of crap flys at nothing. Damn I can't even come up with a good rant, because I know we all know how bad the 700 is. Bidding reserve for November.

Other guys said it.......4 on 2 off 11days off 72 hour line is bottom of the industry. As a general rule Mesa and Gojets have better schedules than us currently. There is no other way of looking at this. In addition, 4 am RAP on day one of RSV is also an industry worst. So here is where we are at: if you're a line holder you get industry worst schedules and if you're RSV you get industry worst rules.

Some things are changing for the better but our schedules and qol is badly lagging behind our peers. You may not think it's all that bad but in reality you are defending the wrong thing. Find some other regional trips and compare them to yours and you will see that we are way behind.
