Apparently you missed the IF in my statement. And even IF it happens, it probably won't be for a good 3 years. But since I'm a DFW pilot, it really doesn't matter all that much to me at the moment. My bonus money goes a LOT further in Texas than it ever would in California.

You realize you are speaking to Envoy pilots. We know all about contracts and that everything is always up for negotiation. Just because there is a contract does not mean it cannot be reneged or violated. I don't wish any harm to Compass, I'm just sayin, it's not out of the realm of possibility. Wait n see.

AA lawyers would disagree with you. They have taken Compass to court as we speak. They want those 175s in house at Envoy, and attempted to buy Compass out. Compass originally considered it, but refused because of the large pilot displacement it would create in LAX..putting downward pressure on an airline already in a bit of a dive. So off to court they go..with Robert Isom representing AA.

But what would they know, right?

I won't believe a cheap rumor like LAX re-opening. There is absolutely ZERO evidence of this happening. At this point it's only wishful thinking.

Under what grounds could they terminate the contract? Interesting that Parker and company want to reneg on CPAs but when APA wanted to negotiate, the company said see you in 2020. This should be a warning to new hires.

Why would this be a warning to new hires? In what shape or form is renegotiating airframes from a non wholly owned to a wholly owned be a warning?

If this is in fact happening and you're a compass pilot I really do feel for you if it turns out that way. Us at Envoy have been destroyed from years ago but new management seems to be with a new mindset that the wholly owned (as much as capable) will be the primary feed.

I've heard these rumors of reopening of bases since before Miami actually closed and I really hope LAX, MIA or both reopen...but I'm not counting on it until it actually happens. But if in fact either or both would come back I can't see one possible negative as you insinuate.

If I had 1500 hours and Envoy opened an LAX base I would jump at the opportunity. At the moment, without a west coast base they're not really on my radar.

Guys attending training. Is it better to drive down there to DFW and use your vehicle to go to training or the hotel shuttle is the way to do it?

It's definitely more convenient to have a car down there if you can swing it. Just be prepared for your classmates to try and mooch rides off of you every day 😎

If you were to live in the area, is it ok to drive home home?
