If these 10-12 person classes keep going we will be in decent shape.

Also, heard that the march block hours is going to increase about 3000 total hours.
Will it show in every schedule? Prob not but it is apparently going to be split between the 175 and 145.
All new hires are going to Ord 145

I figured. I hadn't heard what the breakdown was but should have guessed that. Was only told the number.

Basically means anywhere between 20-30 new hires a month. Ric Wilsons projections were based on 15 new hires a month. I think he under-estimated the military guys who are just here for a year than leave but a lot of the new hires are also pipeline students. One of the few times I give envoy management credit - they started setting up these pipeline programs years ago. It takes time for students to move through the pipe and they got a head of the curve. On this at least.

They also only had to flow 29 people this month and they flowed 30. I am sure that 1 extra person enjoys their new job.

The pilots who are flowing through these days....just curious, what was their approximate date of hire at Eagle/Envoy? How long have they been working there...ballpark?

I've noticed this military myth catching on among some circles lately. Talk to a recruiter and/or anyone in hiring. Over the past year military pilots have been less than 1% of our new hires. First, we haven't interviewed that many. Second, nobody in the hiring department is stupid. They know the "just get current" play...we don't like to waste new hire slots.

Please do me and all of us a favor and relay that on eagle lounge or wherever it is that keeps pushing this rumor. Again, talk to the hiring department if you would like to hear it from a non-Internet source.

Maybe so, but last week a guy came up to me in the crew room in Ord and asked if I was a certain check airman doing his IOE. I was not but in talking to him, he said he was " a former KC-130 pilot just getting some 121 time but had his applications already at UAL,DAL,and SWA ".

There are also a few guard pilots coming online who are very very low time, which basically means they are likely still a few years away from getting a call from one of the big 3.

The hire date will probably be around a middle 2001 hire, for flow, by the end of the year. If that is/was going to be your next question.

Bear in mind, there were large hiring gaps, so those hire vs. flow dates can be misleading, at least for the next year or two.
