From what I hear, it isn't "bad", but my understanding was they used to include breakfast and now they dont, which to me is a big hit. Anyway, certainly cheaper than 500 a week.

Trying to avoid at all costs a crash pad. Any other options out there. Cheap hotels/motels are running $500/week or so.

Suggestions
Also, take some of that bonus money if you got any, buy one of those conversion vans and park it in the ORD employee lot. Private room with a view, close to the airport. Showers could get tricky in the winter however.

I have seen a couple in the lots lately so it is possible. Not sure where they are showering but hey, details.

You’d have to winterize the plumbing in winter. Toilet could still be usable if you flush with RV antifreeze. Would have to take showers at a gym in the winter. If you’re going to the gym daily anyway, that’s not such a bid deal. For someone without experience using RVs, might not be worth the effort but I used to have a couple RVs and would go this route just because it would be ‘my’ space. Plus side is that if you get one that is ‘used enough’, you might get what you paid for when you sell it.

In the summer though, full plumming would be available which would include showers in units that have them. But even that’s not without inconvienience... you still have to find a place to dump and refill every so often. In my experience, those labeled ‘conversion vans’ usually don’t have showers. Units labeled ‘Class B’ which are built on the same frame often do. Look for one’s that are 19’. Anything bigger will ‘officially’ need more than one parking space (though you might be able to make one slightly larger work by parking with the back end hanging over curb/sidewalk/grass).

Also, none of these will park in a typical airport parking garage (too tall). If you’re airport has a parking garage for the employee lot, don’t bother.

ORD is open parking lots and I forgot about gym showers. The Hilton on airport at ORD does offer $50/month rates for airline employees so that would take care of the "facilities" issue. Shower and #2 at the gym.

I am with you, I would rather do just about anything to have my own space at the end of the day as opposed to being in a shared room every night.

Agreed on selling it for what you paid for it, or close to it. Once they hit a certain value they pretty much level off there.

Hilton at ORD offers monthly rates of $50/mo for airline employees?

RV or van sounds like a fair option but i dont trust to leave it in ORD while im home for a few days or on vacation for a week.

My luck id come back to it stolen, towed, broken down, or tireless😂

Non-Reving on a D2 is different, you do not check in.
Because. Just do it before you cause problems for yourself and others.
Beside, what the problem with checking in with the captain, his/ her jumpseat got you a seat in the back.
You really are a newbie.

Don't know if RVs are allowed but the employee lot at O'Hare is very restricted. No one other than badged people are allowed through security.
