**Edit - just reread you’re talking about Jan not Dec. same principles apply but also try to bid lines that suit. If all your proactive measures don’t work out the CP office usually works with you,

If you finish ioe before bids close you can bid around it. Otherwise try swaping and droping or talk to CPO for a PVD (personal vacation day deducted from next year's bank) or PO (unpaid day off).
