Speaking as someone with a Class B currently parked in the ORD lot... I asked all the questions and did the research (even brought a measuring tape in and measured the spaces). If you wanna park in the AA lot, it MUST fit in a single parking space or will be towed. It cannot be parked along a fenceline along the parking lot, since they are afraid of people using them to jump a fence.

As long as you can fit in a space (19.5 feet or less, basically), you're fine. The CPO office said you can park there, but not live in it... just FYI. Though, nobody cares as long as you aren't obvious probably.

As already mentioned: the Hilton has a gym you can shower in.

Thanks
You will automatically get RAP1 on your first day of reserve, however you can try and proffer out of it the day before just like normal if you so desire.

Sorry to hear that man. So you are ONLY assigned the "pre-assigned RAP 1" if they call and tell you or you get an hi6 saying you are "confirmed".

If neither happens then expect a call at midnight. I'm guessing this will most likely happen.

Additionally hahaha and this may get confusing. Even if you do get pre assigned you can always proffer. If you do proffer and are awarded the trip/RAP/ready reserve then you must confirm via AVRS or you will be reverted back to RAP 1.

I guess this is the more complete answer, but I was under the impression that CS was just blanket assigning it to all day 1s. Anyway, go with Pedros more complete description.

Thanks guys. I was planning on RAP1 just wasn’t 100%.
I live in base so that works for me.

This is good info. Mine wasn’t meant to be ORD specific because I don’t know that airport. Just commenting on RVs as crashpads in general because this topic is almost never covered here.

If you don’t mind, what model do you have and how well has it worked for you? I didn’t commute to reserve long enough to make me do it, though I was in the process of shopping for one when my circumstances changed. But I may need to revisit this topic when I land the next job.

Just because it's on your HI1 or N6D doesn't make it a valid assignment.

95% of the time they hi6 you a RAP 1. However there are new schedulers that mess up and put it on your schedule without ever notifying you. In this case you are not confirmed the assignment and you are required to answer any phone call starting at midnight for the entire day. Essentially you are long call at this point. They may not know it and try to give you an assignment but just tell them you aren't on a RAP and need ten hours of rest.

On reserve I always say there's the probation way, the safe way, the I know the contract way, and the IDGAF way. If you fall into the first two categories then just always confirm your assignment if you aren't sure and go by what assignment you are given on AVRS. If still in doubt just call and talk to them to clarify. Building a report with them goes along way in increasing your QOL on reserve.

Can confirm the value of a rapport. The schedulers actually say sorry when they bone me now, lol.
