We use to have around 300+ E145 lines in ORD plus all the CRJ lines on top of that. Around 1000 pilots there. The first two pages in the bid pack were all day trips, then about 60-80 lines of 2 day trips, another few pages of 3 day trips..
Now look at it. Sad.
I would not be suprised if ORD closed within a couple years at this rate. Either that or very small and ultra senior, especially on the CA lifer side. AA mainline has shrunk a lot there too and become more and more senior over the past decade. Not some place I would try to buy a house and stay long term watching this trend. I use to really like it there, but the base is falling apart and the city is turning into a crime disaster zone.

We also use to have 3000 plus pilots "now look at it" what's your point? With LGA opening we are really seeing how small of a pilot group we've become. Wait until they open the next base and draw from the Dfw hub. Ord will probably turn into what LAX use to be. Like you said an ultra senior base. You and I should be out of here before that happens tho. Also your comment about the city turning into a crime zone is pretty ignorant. Just like any other city's we have the wrong side of the tracks. Chicago gangs typically mean business and gets the jobs done.

The city (Chicago) has logged more than 700 homicides this year, more than any other major U.S. city

Ummm yeah.... notice he said "per capita." Responding by noting it had over 700 homicides does nothing to refute his (correct) statement. Many cities are higher -- St. Louis, Baltimore, Gary IN, etc.

Touché. But Chicago is in the news, therefore it must be the worst. Oh, and there is NO WAY Trump can beat Hillary.
Actually, Chicago was #24 on the list for 2015. Didn't make the top 25 for 2016. But to hear the "news" as reported today, Chicago is the worst city in the USA. Interesting, eh?
