I highly doubt they would displace off the airplane. The training center is already running at full steam trying to keep up with new hires and upgrades. To introduce an additional 40 training cycles and remove folks off of line status would put additional stress on an already short staffed situation.
I am curious how many AAG 175s are out there being operated by others?

Compass has 20. Republic owns the 170/175s that they fly.
I also doubt they run a displacement. They'll put a vacancy out and just use TDY. Meanwhile, ORD 175 will be the only way for a new hire to get the 175 and they'll stop the TDY when staffing gets to where it needs to be.

If it would be offered to new hires, in what month will it be on the bid sheet, in the September classes or later in the October classes? Guessing it wont matter since it'll probably go to the over 40s group, but thought i'd ask.

Do you think that it would be offered to new hires or that most of the current fo's would just transfer once the move is made, either through a vacancy bid or be forced to go through a displacement notice?

I don't think anyone can honestly answer your first question. It's all speculation at this point. It'll depend on a number of factors. How large will the base be? Will they move planes out of the 44 we will have on property or will they exercise more options? How many pilots would prefer to commute to ORD vs. DFW?
If the base as large as Ric supposedly said, a vacancy won't cover it. Guys just won't go for it. They'd rather stay in DFW.
Also, there will be an increase of ORD flying on the 175 if it's that large. I'm assuming the bulk of that will be from Air Wisconsin? ORDinary would have a better guess than I would as he's based there. I'm there about once a month.
Also, if they move about half the fleet to ORD, who is going to pick up the slack in DFW? Not Mesa. Maybe they'll bring more 140s back, but most of the current 175 routes are not routes the 140 would fly. This leads me to believe that AAG will exercise more options for the 175. So I think a displacement would not only be expensive but unnecessary.
Even if they don't exercise options though, a displacement would be expensive. There's no guarantee for the company that everyone displaced would bid ORD 175. Some might, but I think most would prefer the QOL of being based in DFW. If that's the case, they would have to train a large amount of pilots on the 145. TDY just makes economical sense.
As for when ORD 175 would be offered to new hires? No idea. Depends on what the next vacancy bid consists of, how many take it, and when it would open.

So on the new MIA Flight Ops Line web page, it shows Denise from ORD as the new flight ops manager for MIA. Are they not going to hire a chief pilot and just let her run the show down there? Kinda alarming if they don't hire a chief pilot. Maybe management is thinking our new Miami base won't be around for very long.
