If we need street Captains so bad, maybe it should be negotiated for something the pilot group needs. This is the kinda nd of leverage we have been waiting for. Please don’t come on here all clueless and say “I don’t mind having street Captains”

Our contract allows street CAs. I don't see how we can use this as a negotiating tactic. The only negotiating power we have is to leave. Every other thing we have tried to do doesn't work.

In the meantime someone else who just joined goes through CA training and is on the line before them.

I personally have no problems with street CA’s, but if they want to send street CA’s right into the CA seat just run a bid monthly so everyone else that wants to upgrade that meets the hours also has the opportunity to goto class. Obviously they don’t want to run monthly bids for the obvious reasons that you pointed out earlier.
If you see this happening then contact the union and those FOs that preference bid a CA spot will be CA pay protected. It happens from time to time. A NH getting DFW 145 while others sit in ORD waiting for a base transfer. Those guys got some protections due to the out of seniority shenanigans the company did.

Currently we have no CAs on the line that wasn't awarded it on the last bid.

Side note: during a bid the order or training goes in seniority of preference bids followed by reverse seniority of displacement bids. So if getting Ca seat first matters then preference bid it.

I hope this capt issue gets resolved. If not what will happen? They’ll not send people to AA.

Not short enough. I cannot wait till flights start cancelling because Envoy can’t manage itself. They use hostage tactics in negotiating, im glad to see it bite them.

My guess is they’ll soon try to offer DEC’s more QOL incentives. This is where the union can have negotiating power and get some wins for the rest of the pilot group.

I hope they start offering TDY for LGA HVAs....that will provide a serious amount of negotiating firepower considering the expense associated with TDY solutions!

Or start offering DEC on the E175.

I think this is the most likely scenario
