Will those guys fill most of the upcoming slots as they get there hours over the next 6months?
It’s expected by about January or February they will no longer have an instant upgrade as the bulk of 2016 hires will be eligible to upgrade.

Is there any advantage at all to voluntarily upgrading when you know for a fact the company will displace you in short order anyway?

Not really any advantage. You just get CA pay instantly instead of having to wait for a displacement bid. A disadvantage, in some cases, is that you will seat locked for 2yrs.

Few questions as a newjack:

1. If youre on SB or RAP, how do you monitor flights to see potential for getting called in? Flightview>departures, the reserve list or just bug daily desk?

2. How do I call in sick or fatigued?

3. Where do I find that excel form that lays out base/seat manning with seniority numbers?

Thanks in advance

1. QuickTrade, set up notifications and also look at the "all open time" for the day manually.
In fos rgg/base/equipment/date/time/time to see the scheduled departures for your metal

2. No clue. CS then CPO?

3. Envoy.alpa.org -> bidding -> interactive seniority list

List of all flights at a certain base:
RGG BASE/EQUIPMENT/DATE

Sick and fatigue calls go to crew scheduling. If you call in sick, you’ve gotta “clear sick” with the CPO via phone call before you come back to work. Fatigue call and you need to fill out a report within 24 hours.

Anyone know if there’s a limit of airport stanby’s someone can get in a month? I keep getting them and see guys below me on the seniority list getting the raps that are my first choices when proffering. I just wanna fly!

There’s no limit to the amount of airport standbys you can do.

If you’re getting standby and guys below you are on RAP, you must be proffering for the standbys. If you don’t proffer for it, you won’t be awarded it. Flight assignments and standbys are considered first in your proffers and then RAPs.

Maybe that’s it then. My first choices have always been a rap and my third choice has been a standby.

Never bid/proffer something you don’t want.
