Off question but this is probably the best place for it. Could someone explain actually what “junior manning” means? Is it just using the lowest guy on the pole for the last and worst trips open? Thanks.

Junior Manning is scheduling taking the most junior legal person available and sending them on an overnight into an off day, because no one else is available to cover the trip.

For the guys or gals flowing soon, what are the AA class schedules for July and August?

Think of it as forced overtime. You finish up your trip and scheduling has you pick up flying on your day off.

You can always just say no. Tell them you gotta get home to let the cat out or something really critical. They will understand...

My intention is to get the 145 in MIAzzz unless the 175 comes over. A plane is a plane, so I’ll save myself the headache.

Why the cadet program? I don’t want to sit and wait for 6 months to start class or be told “no” all together. Now, I’m sure everything will change in 2-ish year time so I’m keeping this all with a grain of salt.

Envoy is a good option for me.. unless other regionals come to MIA

Nearly impossible to guess what things will look like in two years.

However, assuming things stay strong Envoy should do nothing but get stronger in terms of choices.

I think Envoy is a great option in MIA. There's real jet flying there too, rather than the 15 minute legs that plague the 145 in ORD and DFW. That really closes the gap as far as the equipment goes in my mind unless you're worried about making it through training where obviously the 175 is easier.

I'd be going down there if I could pull the commute off.

Having been trained on both types here at Envoy, I’d say they’re about the same in terms of difficulty. Mastering the auto throttles vs. the slightly higher workload of adjusting thrust yourself is about a wash. Put your big girl panties on and just fly the airplane.
