Anyone have an idea of what the current backlog looks like in the training department? Today I overheard a couple FO’s talking about getting displaced on this bid and neither thought they’d even get into training until after the first of the year. Are we still that backed up?

It’s cyclical, maybe a month wait to goto training if you preference bid, 2 ish month wait for PDIS and 3+ month wait if you 3D without a PDIS. All fleet dependent and variety of other factors.

Above is ballpark at best.

QU on the 145 took me exactly 1.5 months from day one to finishing IOE (50 hours as per loa) and fed ride. Would have taken nearly half that time if it weren’t for the 50 hour IOE requirement.

So I was displaced from 175 FO to 145 CA. Training starts Oct 14. I'm definitely senior enough to hold 175 DFW or ORD. Assuming they post results on the 13th, how soon could I expect them to pull me out of DNR/GET etc?

I spoke to a guy a couple weeks ago that was in that same position. But you are scheduled to start training within 14 days of the bid. I believe that prohibits you from bidding, per the bid info.

I think he had already started training. They made him finish all training, do the full IOE and fed ride. He said he got something like 8 hours on the 145 and then started long term on the 175.

If it matters, I was supposed to begin my 145 CA upgrade training on September 2. Got roped into an HR thing and my training got pushed to the 16th, then the 23rd. I started the 23rd, went for the week, missed GET due to being sick, and now have been rescheduled to start over again on the 14th. Surely there's some language in there somewhere that would get me out of the starting within 14 days clause. They've been screwing me around for a month now and I'll be furious if they can't work this out. What a waste to go through 145 LT and immediately go back to 175 LT. It's a 100% wasted type on their part.

But have you been enjoying the captain pay this whole time?

Contractually, yes. I'm not here for the pay, I'm here to advance my career.

Your post is kinda confusing. You’re mad at the company for delaying your training by your own admission for a HR issue and you calling in sick?
