Why does it not surprise me that they attempted to do that...

If not required, but on probation, do you guys recommend calling back anyway?

Also, what’s up with text messaging? Also got a text that is from an unidentified phone number that just says, “Please cal xxxxx” with the CS number listed. No assignment, nothing.
Generally I agree with the above statement that if no voicemail, I'd assume they just realized they called the wrong number and hung up. HOWEVER, have you ever called someone's cell number and due to some kind of error it didn't go to voicemail? It might sound to the caller like they'd just called a landline with no answering machine. I'd at least check my schedule to make sure I hadn't been tagged with something.

And text? That's supper sketchy. Sounds like someone in CS was trying to get around some sort of rule. Was this even during your RAP?

Text message, wtf? You may be on probation but I guarantee the union would like to know about this. Contact the FO rep

Screenshot the text message and email [email protected] with all the details.

Non revving with anyone that isn't Envoy while in uniform: "Hey my name's XYZ I'm with Envoy, they got me a seat in the back, thanks!" I don't offer the handshake, I just wave without stepping all the way into the cockpit. It's quick, simple, a step above walking in unannounced.

Non revving with anyone, not in uniform: No greeting

Jump seating, regardless of uniform: Greetings, handshakes, paperwork etc.

I'm not saying this is the "ALPA" approved method, or even the right method, but I have yet to step on anyone's toes doing this. When I'm flying, a quick greeting is more than enough for me if they aren't riding up front.

You check in with the captain anytime you are on someone elses airline.

This is completely unnecessary. If you are a D2 with a seat in the back you are using your travel benefits as an employee. Do you want Mary from Accounting checking in with you too on her flight back home?

Nope. In fact, that'll get you some strange looks at some carriers (Delta *cough). Jumpseating, even if a flowback? Check in and ask for the ride. That's ALPA mandated. On pass, ZED, revenue ticket, etc? Sit down and shut up.

For anyone griping about the union not saying anything about this vacancy, check your email. There are two messages out. One has the bidding guide. The second covers profit maximizing strategies.

For anyone who says "I didn't get the email, can you post it?;" nope. Check your spam folder, and/or get with your union rep and make sure that ALPA has your correct email.
